With this nice video the Val Gardena projects us into the mood of the DOLOMITALE FilmFestival: the film festival has chosen the Dolomites as its location, guaranteeing itself the reputation of Italy’s highest film festival.
Here is the trailer that introduces it in a very funny way:
The festival takes place for the second year in Val Gardena:
From 18 to 22 September 2019 films with a personal, geographical or thematic link with South Tyrol will be screened.

Numerous international personalities from the world of cinema are also expected.
The festival is the highest in Italy and aims to become a spotlight for the filmindustry of the alpine region.
In the five days of the festival feature films and documentaries will be shown in three different locations:
- in the “Luis Trenker” House of Culture (Ortisei)
- in the Circolo (Ortisei)
- in the Tublà da Nives (Selva di Val Gardena)
The best documentary of the Alps will be awarded for the first time with the DOLOMITALE Documentary Award.
In addition to that even this year, just like last year, the DOLOMITALE Short Film Award will be given away for the best short film of South Tyrol.
The DOLOMITALE season has already begun on the 24th of August with a european record: The documentary “Mountain” by Jennifer Peedom has been shown on the highest open-air cinema of the continent on Col Raiser (at 2.100 metres elevation).
